For This In-Demand Designer, Hydration Is The Cornerstone Of Self-Care

At 25, Caroline Bentley Noble is already designing clothes that cultural icons like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, the Kardashians, and the Migos have been spotted in. The Atlanta-based designer says of her V2BENTLEY clothing line, “What I wanted to wear didn’t exist, so I made it myself.” She started off with one simple idea: a hand-painted swimsuit.

Even though running V2BENTLEY keeps her busy, Bentley Noble makes time to prioritize self-care, especially in the morning. She tends to wake up early, walk her pup, grab a coffee, and catch a workout class before heading to the office. Drinking tons of water and embracing positive thinking is also key.

Because, like everyone, she sometimes experiences “itty-bitty negative ‘I can’t,’ ‘You’re not good enough’ type of thoughts,” she says. “I do my best to squash them. That may be in the form of guidance from my best friend, a sweaty gym class, cuddling with my dog Jasper, or a nice glass of wine. Don’t feed the little monsters!”

And even though she’s the actual boss of her company, Bentley Noble says she feels most like a girlboss when she makes people feel comfortable and helps them. “Being a good person never goes out of style,” she says.

Ahead, Bentley Noble shares the products and tips she relies on, in this week’s “Shortlisted.”

Power Mantra

“Love is always there.”

I have this tattooed on me. To me, “love is always there” means trying to find the good in all situations. Go where you are loved. It’s important to surround yourself with people who uplift, inspire, and make you feel good.

Skincare Essential

I swear by Tatcha water cream and facewash.

Happy Place Outfit

An XL V2BENTLEY t-shirt, spandex shorts, and Adidas NMDs. My sneaker rotation is always changing, but right now I’m loving this shoe.

Currently Reading And Listening To

I carry a physical copy of If…Questions for the Game of Life by Evelyn McFarland and James Saywell everywhere with me. A friend showed me this book and I’m addicted; I always try to play with anyone who’s willing, from strangers to friends. It’s a cool way to spark interesting conversations and learn things about others you may not normally think of.

I’ve been re-reading The Tao of Wu by RZA for years now. RZA is a genius and this book always seems to bring me back to myself if I’m feeling a little off.

I’m currently listening to Mamacita by Marshall Chan and Lost & Found by Jorja Smith. And ’90s R&B is always in rotation.

Productivity Hack

My productivity hack is writing my goals, my priorities, and my to-dos down on paper. I think it’s really helpful to turn them into lists that can be achieved and marked off. I also have two or three dry erase boards and posters with my visions mapped out in my apartment so I look at them every day.

Most-Opened App

The Shopify app. That’s how I keep my eye on my store throughout the day when I’m on the go.

Good Hair Secret Weapon

Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curl Cream smells amazing and works wonders.

Flats, Sneakers, Or Heels?
