This Easy-To-Use App Is About To Change The Networking Game; Here’s How
Bumble recently launched a networking component, and it makes connecting with others a total breeze.
It’s only fitting that Bumble, the revolutionary dating app that gives women the power to decide who they’d like to interact with, is leveling the playing field when it comes to networking—an experience that (unsurprisingly yet depressingly) can be rife with sexism and sexual harassment.
Last month, Bumble launched a new product called Bumble Bizz, which allows users to take control of the professional connections they make. “Our users were asking for this, and we're so excited to see where it goes,” said Bumble’s head of brand, Alex Williamson el-Effendi, told Girlboss earlier this month.
Once you opt into Bumble Bizz mode within the Bumble app, it functions pretty much exactly the same way as Bumble: You just swipe when you’re interested in making a professional connection. Once you make a match, you have 24 hours to start a networking conversation, and the person with whom you matched likewise has 24 hours to respond. And just like Bumble, women still make the first move.
But here’s where Bumble Bizz represents exciting additional potential, aside from being able to connect with like-minded professionals while you’re on your lunch break: The app can also be a great tool for real-time networking at IRL events.
At the upcoming Girlboss Rally in New York City on November 11, attendees will be using Bumble Bizz to learn more about their fellow attendees, make matches, and then connect right on the spot if they want to. It’s a terrific tool to help break the ice and spark an initial conversation within the context of a process that—let’s face it—can sometimes be super awk.
Plus, you just never know who you might have the chance to connect with; the entire Girlboss team is on there, so just sayin’...
Download the Bumble app here to activate Bumble Bizz mode. And of course, it’s not too late to snag a ticket to the Girlboss Rally and explore all that the app has to offer in connecting you with some of the smartest gals in the game.
See you at the Rally!
