The Girlboss Foundation is Here!
Calling all GIRLBOSSES!
The GIRLBOSS Foundation is officially here and we want to hear from you. Starting today, Sophia Amoruso will empower the next generation of female visionaries, troublemakers and entrepreneurs!
The GIRLBOSS Foundation wants to celebrate the next generation of young women who embody the GIRLBOSS philosophy of taking risks, rewriting the rules and defining success for yourself. The Foundation fulfills this mission by awarding financial grants to those who embody the GIRLBOSS philosophy in pursuit of their ambitions and goals.
At only 30 years old, Amoruso is already a prominent businesswoman, a style icon and a role model for those who wish to emulate her non-traditional path. After a string of low-paying, low-reward jobs, a fed-up, 22-year-old Amoruso decided to start Nasty Gal, an online vintage store on eBay. Over the next five years, she worked her ass off, believed in herself and defied most (but not all) of the advice she was given. In the process, she turned Nasty Gal into a fashion empire with annual revenue of more than $100 million. Building on that inspiration, Nasty Gal and Amoruso are committed to encouraging other aspiring GIRLBOSSes to get what they want by working hard, defying convention and never forgetting to have a lot of fun along the way.
