Beyond the #Girlbossmoment: Daniela Maria
"The Ride to Conquer Cancer is a two-day, 220 km ride starting off in Toronto and ending in Niagara Falls. I started riding when my aunt was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2014, after bravely fighting the disease for over three years. I ride for those we lost, those that are bravely fighting cancer and those missing our angels from up above.
Since my involvement in 2013, I have recruited four riders (my dad is one of them!) and successfully raised $15,000. The proceeds go to the Princess Margaret Hospital, one of the top-five cancer-research hospitals in the world.
This year, I took a funny tumble right at the finish line! I guess waving to friends and family got me too distracted and I did not break properly in time. Besides a couple bruises, I look forward to receiving my gold helmet for my fifth ride in 2016! This ride brings thousands of people together and it is truly a beautiful experience to be apart of. "
