So you’re racing down the path to your dream career like Flo-Jo, nail game similarly on point, but hold up for just one second, lady, because we have an important question for you that probably doesn’t get asked as often as it should: Are you saving for retirement?
One in three Americans aren’t saving enough to make sure their golden years are as golden as they should be. We want to make sure all that hard work you’re putting in now translates to your late 60s and beyond being all umbrella drinks and Gin Rummy, which is why we’ve partnered up with Prudential for the 401.K Race for Retirement at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Saturday, September 17.
Here’s how it works: There’s no entry fee; instead, participants will be pledging to save 1% more of their annual income to their retirement fund. It’s a fun run, meaning you can skip, walk, cartwheel--whatever your preferred method of perambulation might be. This is an all-ages, everybody’s-welcome event, so round up your family, friends and fellow badasses to raise awareness for an important issue, feast on some of L.A.’s most popular food trucks, and enjoy a free concert from a huge surprise artist!
Oh, and did we mention that Sophia herself will be out there, too? Catch her in her sneaks and join her in squirreling away more dough for your future.
Register here for the Girlboss Team! And a word to the wise: Previous races have sold out, so be that early bird.
Not in L.A.? Don’t even sweat it. Leading up to the race, Girlboss Radio will be hosting a special series of podcasts aimed at making sure you’re setting yourself up to kick your feet up at the end of all this. Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it!
